Cultural Dining
A Maldivian ritual, shared as it has been for generations.
Set beneath the whispering palms of the Coconut Grove at Naladhu Private Island Maldives, Malaafaiy is an immersive ceremonial dining experience that pays homage to the culinary soul of the Maldives. Deeply rooted in tradition and shaped by storytelling, rhythm and flavour, the evening unfolds as an intimate celebration of island life - unhurried, soulful and steeped in tradition.
The journey begins with the resonant beat of a Boduberu procession, heralding the ceremonial arrival of the Malaafaiy and the opening of the feast. As drums pulse through the grove, each dish is thoughtfully presented as part of the ritual, inviting guests to partake in a time-honoured Maldivian tradition. Throughout the evening, Kurumba - freshly harvested coconut water – is served alongside a refined selection of savoury and sweet delicacies. A cultural screening accompanies the experience, offering deeper insight into Maldivian music, customs and the enduring spirit of island life.
